Hi Everyone,

I am so excited to meet all my new students!!! This is a very special for me this year, my son will be in fourth grade too, and it is the last of my children who will ever pass through the same grade that I teach. Yes, my baby is growing up way too fast, so I understand how some of the parents are feeling tonight. Well I hope you all get lots of rest tonight we have a VERY busy day tomorrow. Hi Everyone,
Hope you all having a fantastic summer!!! It is going by way to quick and before you know I will see you all again with your new teachers!! It was so great seeing one of you at the car show :) I always like to see you out and about especially on a beautiful day!

If you have not finished your summer reading don't forget to check out the school website for the books that are recommended and what assignments must be completed. Remember the assignment is part of your grade and if not done it is a zero, but I know all of you will complete it. Also, summer time is a time to brush up on skills and keep going with the knowledge you have acquired during the year. Don't forget to look at the assignments on Study Island as well as Reflex Math.

Enjoy the rest of your summer!!! I will post pics of my last minute trip that I will be off to very soon!!

Greek Mythology

Hi Everyone,

I hope everyone is enjoying the nice weather we are experiencing. Looks like Mother Nature has finally decided to give us something other snow :)

Our reading Unit on Stargirl has concluded and the children absolutely loved hearing and adding to the books topic of Individuality, bullying, and living a life you are happy with. The posters they created are all beautiful! Great job everyone :)

Our Unit of Study for the Third Trimester in Reading is Greek Mythology. The children are very excited to learn about the Greek gods/goddesses and the mortals that they interact with. I have found some great websites that the children can use at home to learn more about the Greeks.

Hi Everyone,

It is that time of year again-testing! The fourth grade will be testing the week of May 12th-16th. It is very important that the children arrive to school on time that week. Testing begins promptly at 8:42.

The children have been preparing for this test all year and they don't even realize it. Books we have read in class, writing assignments that have been given, and trimester quizzes and tests have all made the students very well prepared! They have all worked very hard this year and I am very proud of the progress they have made!

Today the children received NJASK practice booklets to bring home and review with you. Please take some time to look over the booklet and help your child ease any anxiety or questions they may have. If you have any questions,please do not hesitate to email me.

Homework March 13, 2014

Math Assessment for fractions

Reading/Language Arts- In chapter 24, we find that Leo is conforming to the rest of the MAHS. What is your opinion on how the entire school is treating Stargirl? Do you think they should have treated Leo the same way? Leo is upset that the entire school is not talking to him, except for Stargirl and Leo. Is it better to have a few true friends or to have many friends? What would you do if you went to MAHS? What advice would you give to Stargirl? Leo? The students at MAHS?

You should be practicing REflex Math EVERY DAY!

Homework January 27, 2014

Happy Monday Everyone,

Here is today's homework. A good portion of it is found on this blog under important sites. Please make sure you are completing these assignments.

Math- Practice wkbk page 13-2

Science- using the venn diagram we completed in class, begin writing the introductory paragraph for our 3/5 essay on cloud comparison. You may also use the internet to find relevant information to the clouds, but DO NOT COPY AND PASTE this information and claim it as your own. You MUST put it in your own words!

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!!!

Hi everyone,
I hope you are all home safe, sound, and warm and snuggly. There are some new and wonderful additions to our important sites!! I have added a blogging page where the children will respond to texts that we are reading. They were given their passwords for this today and I instructed them how to get on. Also, I found an absolutely wonderful writing site, that we will be publishing class books and once published the children can purchase them for a small fee. What a great way to see their hard work then to be published in a soft covered book that they can keep forever and which is also illustrated! The site is called Boomwriter. The user name is this firstname_lastname@boomwriter.com. USe your child's first name then underscore last name. If you have any questions or cannot get on, please email my school email and I will get you the username. The password was given to your child. Lastly, I added a word art that the children can go on and out words in. The final site is Khanacademy. This is a fantastic math site but the children need an email account for this. If you would like to sign your child up under my account please notify me via email, or you can try on your own. I have add that link as well under the important sites and to join my class please use this code T2GF2N . I hope everyone has a wonderful afternoon and I can't wait to see the work they complete tonight.
